Can you think outside the box? It's
a hard question to answer—there's always
the lingering doubt that the box that you seem to be thinking outside of, is
actually inside another box that you don't even see.
The human mind thinks inside the box
because we need a structure and a frame of reference. Even the most
divergent and creative mind must be able to bring their ideas into a structure
within which they can be acted upon.
We actually like thinking inside the box.
The box gives us comfort. The box keeps us safe. The box makes us feel powerful
as we master the territory within its boundaries.
But you can't put God in a box. No matter how
big and expansive you build the box, God is always bigger.
That's what makes it so hard to understand
God at times, so hard to comprehend the depth of His forgiveness, the
completeness of His grace, or the steadfastness of His love.
It is also hard to see beyond the walls of
the box you're living inside of, so hard to see the unexplored and wonderful
future He has set before you.
That's where faith comes in, and that's
why faith is so important. Faith in God
and where He's leading you is the catalyst required to move you from inside the
box of your present and into the future of His purpose.

I am accomplishing a work in your days, a work which you will never believe,
though someone should describe it to you.' Acts 13:41
