Are you worth
emulating? Are you living the kind of life you would want others to
follow?
It's a loaded
question, because the 'right' answer is pretty obvious. We all want to be
men of righteous and genuine character. We all strive to live lives that
are worthy of admiration.
But most of us
fall woefully short of that goal . . . . or, at least, we think we do.
I have a
suggestion: let's cast aside our self-doubt and self-criticism. Let's focus on
what we're doing right, without losing sight of where we still need to be
stronger and better.
Let's view
ourselves the way Jesus does—as His treasured servants, as His beloved
sons.
Through the power
and grace of God let's strengthen each other, so collectively we can live up to
our identity as 'Christians'—being and speaking and living like Jesus.
Increasingly.
Focus Scripture: 'Therefore if
you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where
Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not
on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with
Christ in God.' Colossians 3:1-3
