I was born in a world at war. So were you.
We were born into dysfunctional families, broken communities, and warring
countries.
It was no different for Jesus. His world
was filled with political oppression, His immediate family was struggling and
isolated, His very life was threatened from the moment of birth.
It is so easy to let the brokenness of the world
around us shake our faith in who God is and what He's doing. Even if we
aren't personally exposed to the brokenness, we are constantly reminded of it
by the various news and social media.
Remember that Jesus does not spare Himself from
the creation that humanity has corrupted. Jesus steps down into our
earthly pain and violence and seeks to heal and cleanse us in the midst of our
trauma. He stepped into human history 2,000 years ago. Even more, He steps into
your world today, to heal you, to protect you, to direct you.
Today.
Take hold of His power and join Him in
transforming the day before you. Let His kingdom come, let His will be
done on earth as it is in Heaven. In you.
‘Surely our griefs He
Himself bore, and our sorrows He carried, yet we ourselves esteemed Him
stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our
iniquities; the chastening
for our well-being fell upon
Him, and by His scourging we are healed.’ Isaiah 53:4-5
